Gary O’Brian
Director
Gary worked with companies such as Allied Lyons, Granada Group and Black & Decker and has over 20 years of public company experience. He joined Max Factor in 1982 as Deputy Managing Director and Finance Director. Already experienced in business transformation, Gary built Max Factor into one of the most profitable divisions in the worldwide operation at the time. He moved on to join the Board of the Burton Group PLC in 1986 before joining Signet PLC as Group Finance Director in 1990. Gary has since turned to private companies and subsequently, he has been involved in a management and advisory capacity within retail, corporate finance, telecommunication, IT and financial services marketing businesses. Currently Gary has several non-executive positions in both public and private Companies. And as Non-Executive Chairman has recently listed one of his Companies on the UK AIM. Gary is a member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants and the Institute of Directors.
In the last several years Gary has also been involved in the Property arena, both in Investment Management and Development. Gary joined Polaris Investment Management in 2017. He was also involved with two other property focused Companies; the Chiltern Group which has acted as an advisor to organisations such as E.O.N/ Scottish and Southern / Laing O’Rourke and was also involved in development projects. An example of this being Collegelands in Glasgow, which is the largest regeneration project in Scotland being a 1.4 million sq. ft mixed use scheme (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Collegelands). The second Company being CEPACS, which was involved in developing student accommodation in Buckingham.
